Middle School Overview
preparing students for application and acceptance to highly selective private high schools and outstanding public schools
Our Middle School curriculum prepares students for successful application and acceptance to highly selective private high schools and outstanding public schools. Providence Middle School graduates typically enter high school with four high school credits: two in Latin, one in math (algebra), and one in physical science. We develop students’ rhetorical skills both in classroom discussions and formal presentations and in essay writing, with the standards for high school Advanced Placement in mind. Our science curriculum affords students a bedrock foundation for advanced science studies in high school, and our fine arts program ensures a comparable foundational exposure to art history and studio art techniques. We emphasize the development of Christian character through the considerate behavior we expect of our students, complemented by a Bible curriculum in which discussions of biblical figures and concepts support the moral and spiritual values of our constituent families.
